Peace Village Festival on August 19, 2016 in Ashland, OR : Consistently bringing the finest Southern Oregon musicians to the stage, Peace Village Festival is proud to celebrate its 10th anniversary on August 1 9th-21st at Jackson Wellsprings Hot Mineral Springs Resort in Ashland, Oregon from 3pm to 2:30am on Friday, 9am to 2am on Saturday, and Sunday. With two superb stages and a reputation for the quality of its musicians, artists and workshops, Peace Village Festival is the largest and longest running Summer Music, Arts, and Wellness Festival in Southern Oregon.
Featuring a local and national lineup of world renowned and beloved musicians, the festival offers both familiar and new music in a variety of genres to suit all tastes. Friday, August 19th features the conscious roots-rock country music of Matthew Human and the The Human Revolution along with Alcyon Massive's special blend of hip-hop and Oregon roots reggae. Saturday showcases the epic world music of Hamsa Lila, folk-rock artist par excellence Alice DiMicele, and the passion of Cascadian roots singer Sara Tone. Sunday continues with the world renowned Fanna-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali Party, Hawaiian Island reggae sensation Mike Love, and the magical, soaring music of Peia. Many other artists are performing as well. Late night dances with Govinda and Dragonfly on Friday, then Random Rab and Solus on Saturday are also part of the fun! ***
For one special weekend in August, Jackson WellSprings is transformed into a Peace Village. Dedicated to Honoring Our Ancestors, a theme reflected in the music, workshops, and ceremonies, the festival also brings the very best of Southern Oregon style and hospitality.
