MaMuse in Concert on October 22, 2016 in San Rafael, CA : MaMuse is coming to TMS Performing Arts Center! This merry duo, comprised of Sarah Nutting & Karisha Longaker, weave voices like a Celtic knot upon a sparse instrumental pallet of upright bass, guitar, mandolins and flutes. Original songs transmitted through the heart & infused with improvisation & storytelling, leave audiences softened and singing along. Creating beauty and magic wherever they go, MaMuse is what a meadow would sound like if it could sing. With their roots in the folk and gospel traditions and their hearts rooted in the present moment, MaMuse crafts music for the next seven generations to thrive on.
The MaMuse experience: heartfelt lyrics delivered in our signature vocal style of well woven intuitive harmony backed by upright bass, mandolin, octave mandolin, guitar, and ukelele.
Interweaving brilliant and haunting harmony with lyrics born of honed emotional intelligence, MaMuse invokes a musical presence that inspires the opening of the heart. Playing a family of varied acoustic instruments including upright bass, guitar, mandolins, ukulele, & flutes, and backed by inspired drummer (Mike Wofchuck) these two powerful women embody a love for all of life. The synergy that is created through this musical connection is palpable & truly moving to witness.
