ARIA Festival

ARIA Festival on April 30, 2016 in San Francisco, CA : On Saturday, April 30, the San Francisco Opera Education Department will present ARIA (Arts Resources in Action) Festival, an all-day, free community open house at the newly opened Diane B. Wilsey Center for Opera in Civic Center's Veterans Building, in celebration of the creativity and talent of students (K-12 and University). Presented as part of the nine day SFUSD's (San Francisco Unified School District) 30th Arts Festival, San Francisco Opera's ARIA Festival will offer performances of works created by students along with workshops and hands-on crafts activities.
Featured performances include multiple San Francisco Unified School District classes, Little Opera, San Francisco Boys Chorus, Young Women's Choral Projects, San Francisco Opera Guild, Minerva Schools and San Francisco Opera Center's Adler Fellows.
Special to the Festival will be craft-making activities tied to “Opera in an Hour” movies of San Francisco Opera productions including such opera classics as The Magic Flute, Cinderella, Carmen and The Barber of Seville. Performances, workshops and activities will be held in the Wilsey Center's Taube Atrium Theater, Bryan Education Studio, the Braby San Francisco Opera Archive and other locations on the fourth floor.
